SCJOA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
2009
The Southern California Juvenile Officers Association is now accepting applications
for two annual scholarships to be awarded in 2009.
In 1985, the Southern California Juvenile Officers Association began awarding two scholarships, one in memory of Nancy Lyon and one in the name of Al Trader to outstanding high school seniors planning to attend college.
In 2001, the amount of the scholarship was raised from $500 to $1,000 and to date 38 scholarships have been awarded.
Dependent children of both regular and associate SCJOA members are eligible to apply. The SCJOA member must have been a member for six months prior to submitting an application.
The scholarship committee must receive applications by
April 3, 2009. Selections will be made based upon the information contained
in the applications. Recipients of the scholarship awards will be notified by
mail and have their names announced in the SCJOA Newsletter. The scholarships
will be awarded at our May 2009 board meeting.
